SCAN 2024 Capture The Flag (CTF) Challenge

With the rapid popularization of digital assets this year and the introduction of new regulations and laws in various countries, the transparency and security of the digital asset ecosystem have never been more critical.

The SCAN 2024 CTF Challenge is the world's first competition to determine which team possesses the most advanced skillset in digital asset tracing and other critical capabilities necessary for keeping the digital economy secure.

We are thrilled to announce that Uppsala Security is the challenge designer for SCAN 2024 CTF. Uppsala Security, renowned for its innovative cybersecurity solutions, has crafted a series of exhilarating and rigorous challenges designed to test your skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
These challenges will evaluate your knowledge and skills in unraveling the inner workings of the Virtual Asset ecosystem, including UTXO chains (Bitcoin), EVM chains (Ethereum, Tron), and essential investigation skills such as cryptographic functions, transaction tracking, reverse engineering, and programming.

The second online preliminary round will take place on October 19th, starting at 00:00 UTC and lasting for 24 hours. Teams of up to 4 members will compete.

The top 8 teams with the highest scores will advance to the finals (2024 11. 22. ). Location of the finals will be announced soon.

 *According to Korean tax laws, a 4.4% tax will be deducted from the prize. The remaining amount will be distributed to the team leader, or to team members as per the team leader's instructions.
**If any of the recipients are subject to restrictions on receiving BTC due to the laws or regulations of their respective country or institution, the prize will be given in cash of equivalent value. The equivalent value will be determined based on the Bitcoin price (KRW) on Upbit at the time the finals conclude.

Important Notice

Teams that are unable to enter South Korea for the finals or are ineligible to receive the prize due to Korean law or other legal or regulatory restrictions will not be able to advance to the finals, even if they place in the top 8 in the preliminaries. In such cases, the next highest-scoring team will advance to the finals. Please make sure to review the SCAN 2024 CTF official rules for more details.
